Description & Details: The research area focuses on increasing the understanding of how seed quality is influenced by management, climatic and environmental effects during seed production, processing and storage. The candidate is expected to work with the physiological aspects and how these are linked to the performance of the seed, i.e. the speed and uniformity of seed germination, vigour and seedling establishment. The aim is to use new methods as for example multispectral imaging and NIRS as fast, non-destructive technologies to determine specific quality criteria of the seed. We are looking for a highly motivated person who is interested in establishing and developing this field of research through commitment and collaboration. You will be part of a highly competitive interdisciplinary team of researchers and technicians engaged in studies of seed production and seed quality. The project will be carried out in close collaboration with other scientific teams within the section Crop Health, industrial partners and a network of international scientists in the area. The position provides the opportunity to get trained and develop expertise in the use of multispectral imaging in relation to seed quality aspects. Required qualifications |
