Description & Details: A postdoctoral associate is sought to work at the interface of Glycomics, Microbiome and Medicine. This is a collaborative position that involves members of the Neelamegham laboratory, the UB GEM (Genomics, Environment and Microbiome Community of Excellence) and other scientists interested in Glycoscience research at The University at Buffalo and other institutions in the Buffalo area. The successful candidate will be expected to develop new, high-throughput analytical techniques to characterize and catalog carbohydrate structures on mammalian cells and microbial populations; and relate these structures to physiological function and disease. Working knowledge of carbohydrate handling methods, cell culture, molecular biology and analytical chemistry is desirable. The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in glycosciences, chemical biology, biochemistry, bioengineering or related fields. Good oral and written communication skills, high level of motivation to push scientific boundaries, ability to design and perform independent research and a publication track record is important. |
