Description & Details:  The Gregor Mendel Institute (GMI) is a leading institute in the field of plant molecular biology located at the prestigious Vienna Biocenter. The growing institute has ~110 employees from 30 different countries and the working language is English. For more information see www.gmi.oeaw.ac.at.

The Dagdas Group is seeking skilled and motivated postdocs to join our lab at the Gregor Mendel Institute (GMI). Our long term goal is to gain mechanistic insight into the role of selective autophagy in plant development and stress tolerance. Our initial objective is to generate a framework to study autophagy at a cell type specific resolution.

Some of the research topics that we will initially focus are:
(1) discovering/characterizing novel selective autophagy receptors and cargoes.
Desirable skills include proteomics, protein biochemistry and structural biology.
(2) dissecting autophagosome biogenesis and trafficking.
Desirable skills include Arabidopsis genetics and live cell imaging.

Priority will be given to postdocs who have identified independent funding sources and are willing to apply.
