Job description

The research group of Prof. Tom Taghon, located in Ghent, Belgium, is looking for a talented and highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team.

The focus of the lab is to characterize the molecular mechanisms that control the stepwise differentiation of human hematopoietic stem cells into T lymphocytes. While it has clearly been established that the earliest stages of T cell development in human are characterized by unique changes in cell surface marker expression that differ from more frequently used model organisms such as mice, evidence now emerges that also the molecular mechanisms that drive these developmental processes differ between these species. Using human primary hematopoietic stem cells and T cell precursors, successful candidates will apply state-of-the-art approaches with the specific goal to identify and characterize the earliest stages of human T cell development and to obtain novel perspectives on the molecular.
