Description & Details: We are seeking two highly motivated researchers with appropriate skills in molecular and cell biology to study the novel nuclear lamina in trypanosomes. A major goal is to understand the structure and function of the lamina in gene expression and the contributions towards antigenic variation and pathogenesis. The post is available full-time for up to 3 years and salary will depend on experience, but will be up to £31,656 (Spinal Point 30). Main duties and responsibilities: The persons appointed will pursue a research project under the broad title Defining the nuclear lamina in African trypanosomes’ involving predominantly molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry techniques. They will be expected to work independently, to contribute to the teaching/training of other staff/Ph.D. students, to general laboratory duties and to writing reports and preparing and writing manuscripts for publication. They will also be expected to contribute to the life of the Department and School. |
