Description & Details:  We are seeking a postdoctoral scientist for a position investigating the regulation of adipokine secretion. The successful candidate will work in the group of Dr David Savage in collaboration with Professor Sir Stephen O’Rahilly. You will join a program which broadly aims to better understand the molecular basis of human insulin resistance, using a broad range of experimental model systems and techniques. The work will, to a large extent, involve working with model organisms for which we are seeking someone with extensive experience in metabolic phenotyping in model organisms. Ideally the candidate will be very experienced in carrying out standard metabolic tests such as GTT/ITT and ideally with experience in working with primary tissue explants.

You will possess a PhD in biochemistry, physiology, molecular biology or a related biological sciences discipline. We are keen to identify a highly motivated researcher with a first class publication record and directly relevant skills – extensive experience with model organisms is considered essential. Applicants should be eligible for a Home Office Personal Licence.
