Description & Details: The position involves design and synthesis of novel antimicrobial compounds. A major task will be to explore the structure-activity relationships in order to obtain compounds with superior antibacterial activity via efficient delivery to target bacteria as well as a promising toxicological and PK profile. The current activity requires extensive skills in heterocyclic chemistry as well as experience in peptide synthesis. The work will be closely integrated in the ENABLE consortium which will provide all needed resources for evaluating compounds prepared. Thus, the work will have great attention and requires high productivity to meet expectations. The postdoc will be associated with the Natural Product and Peptide Research group, and will work closely with colleagues from other groups involved in the antibacterial project. |
