Description & Details:A Post-doctoral position is available in the Division of Molecular Microbiology, School of Life Sciences, University of Dundee. The BBSRC-funded project, which is available any time up to 1st November 2016, will be carried out in the laboratory of Professor Tracy Palmer and will be for up to 3 years. The Palmer group is interested in the function of the bacterial Tat protein transport system, using Escherichia coli as a model organism (e.g. Palmer, T. and Berks, B.C. (2012) Nature Reviews Microbiology 10, 483-496.). The aim of the project is to map protein-protein interactions during the assembly of the E. coli Tat translocase.
The Palmer lab is based in the Division of Molecular Microbiology, within the School of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee. The Division of Molecular Microbiology is a dynamic and friendly work environment and the School of Life Sciences is recognised as a top UK and international centre for research in the Life Sciences. The successful candidates will be encouraged to demonstrate independence and innovative thinking whilst being an integral part of the lab team, and will have the opportunity to learn new techniques and approaches within our lab and those of collaborators.
