Description & Details:  The Department of Biomedicine, Aarhus University, Denmark, invites applications for a 1 year postdoctoral position (possibility of extension up to 3 years with satisfactory progress) starting Autumn 2016.

Research area and project.
The research aims to understand the role of adenylate cyclase isoforms for modulation of body phosphate and calcium homeostasis. These studies make use of a variety of different gene knockout mice to decipher the handling of phosphate and calcium by bone, the kidney and the gastrointestinal tract.

Qualifications for this positions.
The applicant must hold a PhD degree within physiology, cell biology or molecular biology and are qualified to start a postdoctoral position in 2016. Prior experience with rodent experiments, including the use of balance studies in metabolic cages, blood and urine collection and biochemical analysis of serum/urine is essential. Certification in the use of experimental animals will be an advantage. Further experience with immunocytochemistry (including semi-quantitative confocal imaging), western blotting, and qRT-PCR will be an advantage. The candidate must have excellent communication skills in spoken and written English and a strong record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate must demonstrate a drive and capacity to work independently within a larger research group and to further develop this specific research field within the group. Previous experience in the development of grant applications is also recognized. Candidate will be required to spend a period (up to 6 months) in a collaborators laboratory in California, USA.
