We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Postdoc in Adaptation Physiology, with a strong background in and affinity with fundamental and applied animal physiology. Candidates should be particularly proficient in perinatal development of avian species, with emphasis on poultry. The Adaptation Physiology Group works on adaptation of animals using an integrated whole animal approach. Candidates should have the ability to work together on integrative physiology with professionals in adjoining fields (behaviour, immunology and reproduction). As Postdoc you would focus especially on metabolism of poultry during the perinatal period. This metabolism research is particularly focussing on biotic and abiotic factors affecting embryonic and early postnatal metabolism of hatchlings. For this research outstanding labs, including climate respiration chambers are available. Based on interest and qualities, the candidate will focus on specific topic within this field of research. The candidate should have working experiences in whole animal physiology with special emphasis on perinatal physiology of avian species. The metabolism research currently includes ten PhD students. The candidate will be involved in supervision of PhD, MSc and BSc students. |
