Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position to work with Prof John Rouse aimed at apply proteomic approaches to study novel protein kinases that control genome stability and which represent potential anti-cancer drug targets.

We seek a talented and enthusiastic post-doctoral scientist who will be based at the University of Dundee with a background in mass spectrometry and proteomics but with the desire to biology studies as well. Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, such as biochemistry or similar, a good academic track record and have published at least one first authored paper in an international journal. The candidate will ideally have experience with large-scale proteome and/or phosphoproteome analyses, and knowledge and working experience with mass spectrometry systems and quantitative proteomics as well as the ability to apply bioinformatic tools to analyse large-scale data. Experience with Tandem Mass Tag (TMT) labelling is desirable, and knowledge of cell signalling, cancer and cell biology would be an advantage, but is not essential. In addition, the candidate should be able to work independently and thrive in a multi-disciplinary research environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as is the ability to work as part of a team.
